Beware of Cheap Limos and Party Buses!!!
A saying in the limousine industry goes:
"Would you hire the cheapest Surgeon?"
Beware of some of the following things that come associated with cheap
1: Your limo driver
arrives in an old style limousine, the driver is dressed in a "Technicolor"
suit and embarrasses you with the other parents and the kids at their
dance. (Yes, it happens a LOT!)
2: Inquire about seeing
the vehicle and ask if the pictures online are of the same vehicle you
are requesting.. There was a recent call to another company who said
their 32 passenger limousine bus was in a "secured hanger at IAH airport"
and no matter what the customer was not allowed to see the vehicle until
it arrived to pick them up and the transaction had been completed. You
should be able to inspect the vehicle you are reserving at the office
location you are booking from.
The limo or party bus breaks
down! You went with an older limousine, but you saved $100 or $200! Now
the limo isn't coming at all...
4: Beware of "farmed out
limousines" - This is a common nightmare with customers who book with
one company only to find out the limousine came from another company. If
there was a problem such as a no-show, breakdown or other problem then
the fingers start pointing as to responsibility and it can be a severe
pain to rectify the problem even after your special night was ruined. Be
very aware that many limo companies only have 1 or 2 limos and farm out
5: Make sure the company
is Licensed by the City of Houston Transportation Department and their
drivers are in possession of a City of Houston Limousine Operator Badge
that MUST be visible from the front view (on a neck band or clipped to
the outside of the suit jacket lapel or pocket. This is the law and your
driver can be ticketed or removed from the run if a city inspector
catches them. *That means your kids will have to find alternate
transportation from the dance where the inspectors hang out during Prom
